About event
Marcel Gidote’s Holy Crab (MGHC)
Czech psychedelic band founded in 2019, which mixes the influences of rock, kraut and jazz with modern sound. The current five consists of Jan Bukovjan - singing, tenor saxophone, flute, clarinet and accompanying guitar, Ondřej Vávra - vocal and guitar, Viktor Eberle - vocals, keyboards and synthesizers, Marek Sobota - bass and Matěj Šolc - drums. In 2020, MGHC released their debut EP called Bay of Roots at the independent Czech label of Polí5. Then the continued cooperation with manager Šárka Hlaváčková began and in 2021 the band released their first full album Humidity Breaking Limits, which moved to a more complex and heavier musical expression. Another album from spring 2023, which is called Farm Alarm, is based on a larger number of vocal parts, acoustic guitar and synthesizers and acts as a striking reminder of the climate crisis of our planet. Then came two more singles (Felina, Giant Stabs) and in October 2023 the band experienced their first European tour, in November 2024 the second.
MGHC has established themselves as one of the most progressive Czech psychedelic bands and played concerts with the legendary Japanese band Acid Mother's Temple, with Acid Tongue, Tonstartssbandht, Lumerians, Triptides and Roar. The band got into a number of domestic and foreign magazines and radios. Thanks to the genre mix, the MGHC fan base is still growing. Since 2022 they play regularly abroad and have already looked at France, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia and Serbia. The band will release a new album at the end of this spring and in March last year the soundtrack was released to India PC Felvidék. Even in a vigorous way, it contributed to high listening abroad, so the music carriers are constantly sending the band around the world.
