About event
Another concert in the year-long concert series Mladi ladi jazz . This time, a Czech and Slovenian band will perform at the Hybernská Campus.
Astrid & The Scandals: Astrid is a Slovenian alternative pop singer and songwriter, electronic harp player and performer, director video clips and producer. In 2019, she graduated in classical singing at the Music Academy in Ljubljana, where she also studied classical harp. In 2020, she met Tomaž Zupančič, who later became her producer and partner. In 2023, they founded a music group that later became known as The Scandals, and since then they have released Dry Out and Release Me. They will release their debut album 18:48 in June 2024.
Marcel Gidote's Holy Crab: Czech psychedelic band founded in 2019 that mixes rock influences, kraut and jazz with a modern sound. In 2020, MGHC released their debut EP Bay of Roots under the independent Czech label Polí5 and in 2021 they self-produced their first full-length album Humidity Breaking Limits, where they moved to to a more complex but difficult musical expression. The new album, called Farm Alarm, acts as a striking reminder of the climate crisis of our planet. Then came two more singles (Felina, Giant Stabs) and in October the band went on their first European tour.
