About event
The biggest perk of being a standup comedian? No matter what happens to you, every streak of luck and every catastrophe - at some point it will become a brilliant stage number. Pure gold! And so Markus Barth gets out the shovel in his new live show and digs for the nuggets.
The master of maximally minimalist stand-up ("A stage, a microphone - I'll leave everything else to Helene Fischer") digs wherever there's sparkle - but also where it hurts. He plows through his own biography, rambles through current events and even looks into the future for his audience ("At what age do I actually have to stroll through German wine towns in racing bike shoes?").
Aside from that, he just chats seemingly harmlessly with the audience, doesn't spare anyone (especially not himself) and effortlessly manages the balancing act between pain and punchline. Because: Comedy is tragedy plus time. Good, and a few gags don't hurt either. But believe us: Markus Barth has enough of that in his luggage.
P.S.: The last show of this tour will take place on February 27th, 2027 in Cologne's Gloria. After that, Markus Barth is gone for the time being. On a treasure hunt, so to speak. Better take a look first!
Markus Barth has lived and worked for and in the comedy scene for many years. Initially as a copywriter and head author for Germany's most successful comedy shows, he then discovered the stand-up stage for himself. Today he hosts his own show on BR television (“Cabaret from Franconia”), is a regular guest on all comedy and cabaret shows and has a radio column on WDR5. He also achieved success with »Queer up! Comedy" is one of the most successful show developments in recent years, it is part of the "Delayed Night Show" in the Cologne Comedia and tours all over Germany with the comic artist Ralf König as "King with Barth". He also inspires his ever-growing following on all social media channels, drives through Europe in a motorhome with his husband and dog and gets a little closer to making the perfect stewed tomato sauce every year.
