About event
We invite you to the presentation of Maroš Krajňak's book Situation of Desolation on Wednesday, November 19. from 18:00 to Košice's Artfor on Hlavná ul.
The evening is moderated by Marta Součková.
Maroš Krajňak's sixth prose book Situation desolation captures a unique Himalayan expedition of three characters from the Slovak countryside to the top of the mountain Imja Tse. The journey becomes a means not only for revealing the mental world of the protagonists, but also for a retrospective of key, often traumatic events from the past that inevitably determine human character.
Krajňak's characters, despite their originality, cannot break free from stereotypes. With every movement or uttered sentence, they testify not only about themselves, but also about what is happening at the geopolitical level thanks to their placement in the international environment. The tradition of Beckett-Kafka absurdity and the reference to Jerofey's fictitious encyclopedia is enhanced by the end of the prose, which confirms the vicious cycle of aggression and violence in human history.
The event is organized in cooperation with the FACE publishing house and was supported by the Fund for the Support of Art from public resources within the framework of the Literary evenings in Artfora project.
Entrance is free.
We look forward to you in the bookstore📚️
