About event
Estonian "treasure" Mart Avi for the first time in the Czech Republic. The production combines the grandeur of pop music with a post-punk shortcut, denies all conventions and offers a constant search for new possibilities and answers. At the Czech concerts AVI will present last year's album promising and subversingly entitled Death of Music , the first session will take place at the Prague club Punctum beauty on Tuesday, April. In his text for The Quietus , Richard Foster even described Avi as "Loki of the 21st century, which hacked into your smartphone" . All of these can undoubtedly cannot be denied, and at the same time it may be a glittering futuristic coat to distinguish the references to the post -Soviet past, black humor and "Poor, but sexy" syndrome that are present in Avi's work. Albums such as rogue wave (2018), Vega Never Sets (2020) or two years younger blade bring a marvelous mosaic Chamber pop, disk and new waves, which resist the current trends, but also co -create them. AVI offers an attractive one -way ticket to the web of the new worlds without promising cheap detachment from a not very tempting reality, as confirmed in an interview for Full Moon "from falling in love to education, in everything that makes life a huge amount of escapit. You start to live in a nightmare full of annoying skeletons. Showbizem. The current album Death of Music offers a remarkable connection with another major character of the local electronic underground, producer Raul Saaremets protruding under the alias Ajukaja. They worked together for several years, and the nearly seventy -minute collection brings a line -up of sixteen songs that do not deny the pop foundation, but at the same time they are connected by clear resistance to the mainstream tinsel and technocracy of seemingly all -powerful algorithms. Or, as the couple declares in a press release on the album, "There are songs that face destruction, and those trying to prevent it". AVI will also perform on Wednesday, April 23 in the Brno Cabinet of the MÚZ and a day later as part of the accompanying program of the AFO festival in Olomouc, which this year curated the Full Moon team .
