Masopust: Vyškrtaný Bůh

Crossed out lines wander through the world of silence. What dimension are we actually cutting out if we remove mentions of God, holiness and other spiritual motifs? And what do we replace them with?

In cooperation with colleagues from theaters in Bohemia and Moravia, Masopust collects documentary material. They collect scraps that fell under the table during the editing of dramatic texts. They want to provide a "shelter" for this displaced material in Eliade's library. From the pile of this "spiritual waste" they let new life emerge. They will also take "into play" old, forgotten and variously used pieces of scenography and costumes from the deniered pieces of the theater association. They are preparing Masopust for the final cut, which will make sense, among other things, by creating space for the emergence of something new.

Maybe we have to "cut" the gods and God. In this way, we actually bring them into the game as co-actors, and through their – possibly outdated – form, we become aware of the presence of a mystery for which we still need to find new names. It is with the "cut" that we begin to look for their sound form and face for the present.
