Massimo Pupillo (Zu) & Rouilleux / Frisk @T3

Massimo Pupillo is a bass guitarist, multi -instrumentalist, composer and improviser, known as the founder of the band Zu, with whom he released 18 albums and played more than 2000 concerts around the world. He has a very open and multidisciplinary approach that has led him to many collaborations with prominent music and artistic people (Mike Patton, Thursston Moore, Peter Brötzmann, Tony Buck, Oren Ambarchi, David Tibet, Thighpaulsandra and many others). At present, he is currently working on the Opera with ALTER EGO ENGE ENGE Members and his new album with soprano Barbara Hannigan and David Chalmin is expected to be released under the brand Die Schachtel this year. It focuses on working with a voice in various forms and a combination of unconventional songwriting with more abstract styles such as Drone Music, Noise or Ambient. His latest solo recording The Fold uses, among other things, the tools and principles of generative and aleator music to explore the concept of a volatile, variable album.
