We cordially invite you to the lecture by Robert Spurný: DIY: Manual as an instrument of democratization of artistic creativity, which will take place on Wednesday 26. 2. ----- It is often discussed in contemporary art discourse, which is in the profile tasks of many cultural institutions. It means mainly the effort to make the art and art collections available to the widest possible part of the public. It follows from the belief that culture should be accessible to everyone. In addition to getting to know and "consumption" of art, however, we can also ask the question of democratization of artistic work itself: if anyone can receive art, can anyone create it? Or is artistic work exclusive? It is the prism of democratization of art that appears to be an interesting phenomenon of art manuals and authorial instructions that appear from the sixties to the present and break the traditional division of the roles of the artist, viewer and curator in artistic practice. Gallery teacher, musician, occasional curator, artist and one of the authors of the Prescription project. He studied aesthetics at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University and currently works as an educator in the Moravian Gallery in Brno. As a curator, he participated in several exhibitions in Brno (Moravian Gallery, postpost Gallery) and Olomouc (showcase Deniska). He is particularly interested in the question of how art can make, transform and present the daily experience of life, both through artistic work and reception. The central to him is that art can happen anywhere (in the car, at home, in the office…), anyone and for anyone- and that is eventually one of the central ideas of the project of prescription.
