Karel Vesely (1976) works as a musician publicist and editor of Denik Alarm. He cooperates with music magazine Full Moon and Radio Wave. His cult book Music of the Fire about the history of African-American music was first published in 2010 and after twelve years was reissued in Paseka. Together with Miloš Hroch, he wrote the book All cats are gray (Paseka 2020), he is the co-author of the publication Planeta Nippon (2017), nominated for the Magnesia
Litera award. In the same year, he also published his first novel, Bomba Funk, and his second novel, Kov, was published in 2022. The most recent book is Hudba srdce (Paseka 2024), a history of love songs from the 1950s to the present day.
