About event
I would like to invite advanced singers interested in Eastern singing techniques to my masterclass, where we will learn to sing classical compositions from Iran and the Ottoman repertoire. The goal is for the participants to try out an uncompromising technique and a specific emotional interpretation of beautiful and complex compositions, or take away inspiration for their musical and singing practice. We will try the style of learning both from notes and by listening, as is still done in traditional music. The number of songs will be as much as we can manage, but I would like at least three.
This course is also comparative, because we will show the differences between these two singing traditions and I will also talk about their development, which has common roots in history.
The maximum number of participants is 5 for more time to deal with things in depth with individuals. work with the breath and have a good command of your voice registers. Ideally, you should already have a flexible voice and be able to sing glissando, breaks, and various types of ornaments without effort. A sense of rhythm is an advantage.
Those whom I do not know personally, e.g. from my singing lessons, send me recordings of their singing to [email protected].
