About event
The patron saint of the 21th year of the New Drama Festival is the world -famous Irish playwright Marina Carr. Her work is closely linked to ancient mythology. During its MasterClass, I will draw attention especially to Aischyl Oresteia, which will be the topic of MasterClass and which we recommend to read before the event. The subsequent discussion with the author is moderated by the theater critic and classical philologist Alexandra Rychtarčíková. Theater plays published by the Theater Institute.
More about the publication:
Marina Carr: Love and Wakeout. The theater games
Marina Carr is a playwright with an unmistakable manuscript. In his works he often uses symbolism and mythology, emphasizing the psychological depth of characters and their internal conflicts. Her stories examine generational traumas and destructive family patterns, especially through strong female characters. Carr challenges the traditional perception of motherhood in Irish society, revealing the differences between social expectations and reality. He is constantly returning to memories of the past, making it unable to live in the present. In the Audrey game or unfortunately, the playwright depicts a family that copes with the death of children, while death in this game takes the power to actively shape the lives of the survivors. Argentina map represents a space in which the author connects absurd elements with realistic forms and deals through the issues of identity, memory, loss of loved people. Live.
