About event
Divadlo Na Peróne invites you to the second premiere of the new production Mastný muž 2.0, based on the collection of short stories of the same name, Mastný muž 2.0.
Mastný muž 2.0 is a dystopian theatrical collage about a country in which literature once again becomes a suspicious activity and culture the subject of official assessment. The production of Divadla Na Peróne is based on a collection of short stories The Fat Man, but it does not talk about just one literary experiment: it places fragments of selected short stories in the author's framework of a fictitious conversation between the editor of a state publishing house and a writer in exile and confronts them with an ironic return to Barč's Fatty Pot. From these layers he composes the image of a society which, under the pretext of order, national identity and "correct" art, learns to forget freedom. Humor, grotesque, awkwardness and anxiety about power are mixed here in the greasy coating of a time in which books may still be read, but more and more often to decide whether they are allowed to survive. Mastný muž 2.0 is a production about a country that is afraid of its own authors, its own memory and finally its own freedom.
