About event
"Everything we see or judge
is an ordinary dream within a dream."
Edgar Allan Poe
We invite you to the presentation of Matej Rumanovský's book Chopin's Record on Thursday, October 23. from 18:00 to Košice Artfor on Hlavná ul.
The debate with the author is moderated by Alfréd Tóth.
Leonard lives his stereotypes. He listens to a Chopin record, watches life from behind the window, wanders the streets. However, suddenly events and situations enter his life that he cannot logically explain.
Suddenly, nothing seems to make sense anymore - his reality takes on a new form and at the same time denies anything before.
But what if this is the lesson that Leonard is supposed to learn?
What if his memories and thoughts prevented him from seeing the real world without adjectives?
And where is the "real" world?
Chopin's Plate is a novel about dreaming, a novel about forgetting, but perhaps most of all a novel about constant awakening and searching for the essence of things.
Matej Rumanovský (1994) studied journalism at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava, but writing and working with text accompany him throughout his life. He worked as an editor and editor-in-chief in several media, wrote advertising texts and wrote
anything else. However, artistic creation is his home, from which he comes and to which he constantly returns. So far he has written two novels, one book about creative habits and is writing more. In his novels, he explores being, the passage of time and the fleetingness of the present moment. In addition to longer prose, he regularly writes short stories and blogs. It publishes in Slovak, English and German.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Tatran publishing house, and as part of the series of Literary evenings at Artfor, it was supported by the Fund for the Support of Art from public sources.
Entrance is free.
We look forward to seeing you in the bookstore📚️
