Support for teaching mathematics (translation from Mathematics Learning, MLS) is an optional program or service beyond compulsory teaching that helps students increase confidence in their own mathematical skills during their studies. Feedback is often mentioned as an important part of the evaluation of the MLS efficiency. Emphasis is placed on feedback from students on the specific support they received and on MLS in general. However, we can also look at MLS and feedback from a different angle: we can consider the MLS service as an agent providing feedback that is or should be an integral part of the learning process. In this lecture, we want to introduce the idea that the MLS service is in perfect harmony with the constructivist approach to feedback and its provision should be considered in this context.
