About event
Materials & Design Now is a one -day conference focused on current approaches to design and materials with an emphasis on sustainability, innovation and interdisciplinary cooperation. In the Czech environment, this is a unique Brno event that connects product designers and designers working on the local and international scene to share progressive and environmentally responsible approaches to working with materials.
The first year of the conference bears the topic Waste → Source and invites all who want to think about materials differently. Not as a problem, but as a cycle where "waste" has no place - because the material can remain in motion, be again and re -used, transformed, thought.
The conference will connect designers, researchers, students, manufacturers and the public who share interest in responsible access to materials and innovative forms of cooperation across fields. The event will culminate in the opening of the international exhibition Collaborative & Conscent Material Design and the baptism of the critical catalog of the same name/collective publication (ed. And curator Valentine Landa Filípková).
