About event
✝️ Mother Teresa as you have never seen her before. Director Teona Strugar Mitevska takes a close, rebellious, somewhat punk look at the famous saint. Starring Noomi Rapace.
🎤 Kamila Dolotina will discuss the film with Lukáš Jirsa, an expert on the intersection of film and spirituality! Another evening from the Eastern Promises series.
🎥 The film focuses on the story of a nun even before she became a globally known figure. It aims to explore the real person behind the myth of Mother Teresa, revealing her complexity, ambitions and inner struggle. The title was the opening and at the same time competition film in the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival.
💥 It follows the young Mother Teresa in a turning point in her life. While waiting for the approval of the Vatican, which should allow her to leave the monastery and found her own religious order, she faces the increasing pressure of church rules, her own ambitions and a scandal connected with one of the nuns.
