About event
Matti Klein - Wurlitzer Electric Piano/Fender Rhodes (DE)
Lars Zander - Bass Clarinet/Tenor Sax (DE)
Andrè Seidel - Drums (de)
What is soul? Feeling, style of music, identity - all of this combines the Matti Klein Soul Trio. Since 2017 on the world, the trio has been rejecting the possibilities of the soul jazz: with warm Wurlitzer, Fender Rhodes Piano-Bass (both Matti Klein), Waberndem tenor saxophone and bass clarinet (Lars Dieterich) and elastic radio drums (André Seidel). On a releaset tour of the new album Bouncin 'in Bubbleverse, they delight critics and soulgourmets alike-with Catchy melodies and impressive, long re-enacting social reflections, in which the variety of its global tour experiences is reflected. Wing as a MD for the Brazilian Soul Supers star Ed Motta or with his band Mo ’Blow Matti Klein won his reputation as one of the most interesting young groove jazzers in the German scene, guest clubs like Ronnie Scott’s London, Blue Note Tokyo, Highline Ballroom NYC, as well as international festivals such as Pori Jazz in Marciac and the Leverkusen jazz days and shared stage and studio with stars like Nils Landgren, Jimmy Somerville, David T. Walker, Sarah Connor and Herbert Grönemeyer.
"The soulful jazz mixture, the keyboardist Matti Klein with Lars Zander on Saxophon and bass clarinet and drummer André Seidel, his company from "Mo’ Blow "times, has served, has addictive potential. The three of the three musicians create a sound that sounds much more than after a trio. Groove master Klein on the buttons ensures the perfect dose of bass even. With his left hand he plays a rhodes bass piano brand self-made and produces a full, warm and round sound that has it all.
With their passionate reminiscences to the Soul Jazz era, the three musicians meet the audience for enthusiastic response. This is mainly due to the groove that swells from every pore in music and has an extremely contagious effect. ” - Kerstin Rickert
