About event
ENGLISH VERSION BELOW
What is it?
In Milan in 2008, the Mazurka Klandestina event, or "unofficial mazurka", was born spontaneously, because information about the place of its performance is only passed on from acquaintances to acquaintances, by text or email, on Facebook.... It is a French mazurka dance in different places of the city: in squares, in arcades, in parks... It is a simple but addictive dance.
Since then it has spread throughout Europe and attracts more and more friends of the dance. Often there is dancing to an audio recording, but there are often dancers and musicians who start to improvise a so-called "jam session" and thus give the dancers the opportunity to dance to live music.
This year the event will take place again in Prague, at Letná u metronomu, from 21:30.
If the only thing that prevents you from participating is ignorance of this dance, then don't hesitate and definitely come! You will learn her steps immediately.
No need to have a partner with you.
Free.

What is it?
The "Mazurka Klandestina" was spontaneously born in Milan in 2008. The name, translatable as "unofficial mazurka", comes from the way the events are publicized: underground, through word of mouth, from friend to friend, through texts or emails or Facebook...
It began simply, with a group of people dancing the "French mazurka" at various places throughout the city: in the town squares, in passageways, in parks... it's a simple dance, but it becomes addictive.
Since those early days, the Mazurka Clandestina has spread throughout all of Europe and attracted ever more lovers of dance. Most times the music played is from recordings, but there are also many occasions when musicians will be present among the dancers, improvising and creating a "jam session" together with the dancers and bringing them the added joy of dancing to live music.
This year the event returns to Prague again, in Letnà Park near the metronome, at 21:30.
If the only thing keeping you away is the fact that you don't know all the dances, don't worry and come anyway! You will learn them step by step. We will dance many mazurkas of course but also balfolk in general, Balkan, Israeli, Greek, and other less-known dances.
It’s not necessary to bring a partner.
Free admission.
