About event
On March 7, Mbye Ebrima takes the B.leza stage to present her latest "Dunya" project "
• Natural Gambia and fixed in Lisbon, Ebrima stands out for her journey as a singer and songwriter but mainly for her journey as a diffuser of oral history Mandinka Kaabunké, as one of the most conceptual kora tiers. Throughout his career, Ebrima went through various stages, festivals and shows and has collaborated with several renowned musicians. It comes from the mandinka tongue and means "world." This word carries a deep meaning, representing humanity in all its diversity - with its contrasts, challenges and beauty. The world is a place of energy, colors and knowledge, but also of ups and downs who shape who we are.
“Throughout my journey, I met people in different circumstances - some in good times, others facing difficulties. However, regardless of the situation, one thing remains the same: a smile, an energy, the desire to move on.
from 2015 to 2025, I learned that although we often hear that “the world is small”, there is always enough room for each of us to leave its brand. And along the way, the most valuable is what we share with those who cross our route.
This album is born from these experiences. It is a reflection on growth, empathy and the importance of learning from each other. In the end, we are just people - and what really defines us is the love, care and presence we bring to the world.
Dunya is my journey - and she continues. also on stage.
Don't miss it.
