A man with a very strange name and even more strange lyrics, who defies all ideas of how a rapper should act, look and speak. Originality and unpredictability, that's MC Gey.
Gey started rapping in 1999, then more serious attempts came in 2005 with the Actionday Crew. The year 2010 brought the first solo record Turbulence of negative goodness, which is basically a collection of older unreleased recordings. A year later, Gey met Fatt by chance, and the result of this meeting is a joint album called Imaginarium of absolutely ordinary oddities, thanks to which MC Gey became a legitimate member of Ty Nikdy. In 2014, this pair followed up with the second album Monkey King Strikes Back. 2016 was a breakthrough year for Gey, as he released the critically acclaimed album Rap-Life, which is followed by Rap-life: Episode 2 in 2020. Both records were fully produced by Gey's partner Krudanze.
Because in parallel with rapping, MC Gey has been producing beats for a long time, so he decided to produce his next album completely by himself. And so, after several years of effort in the studio, his latest album About Dad, Who Fell Asleep will be released in March 2023. On first listen, there is a huge shift from the earlier hyperbole to much more serious and personal themes. This turned out to be a step in the right direction, as MC Gey won the Academy of Popular Music Award in the form of a Golden Angel statuette in the rap category for his latest record.
Besides rap, MC Gey is involved in illustration, graphic design, and writing short stories and poems. In addition, he is also the author of the now legendary Trika vod hoven.
