The musical according to the bestseller healer Noaha Gordon, Czech premiere
In November 2021, American writer Noah Gordon died at the age of 95. He entered the history of world literature mainly by his trilogy of the Cole dynasty, which deals with the history of medicine in great detail. The best known is probably the first episode, known in the Czech Republic as a healer from 1987 (followed by a free sequel of shaman (1992) and doctor (1995)). According to Hanojič, in 2013 was also made worldwide German film with Tom Payn and Ben Kingsley in the lead roles. The motivation for this unusual decision is the experience of early childhood, when due to insufficient knowledge of the human body loses both mother and other loved ones. He first encounters Bradýř, who will dedicate him to a primitive way of healing, but will soon understand that more important than making more money is to learn to real medical craft. On his long and dangerous pilgrimage for knowledge, on which he has to pretend to be a Jew in the enemy environment, he will find not only the required learning but also the love of life. The idea of processing this substance for the music theater was created in the head of the composer Iván Macas, who together with producer Pablo Martínez contacted Michael Gordon, son and agent of the writer. He was so excited after listening to the first few music examples that he decided to connect the authors directly with his father. Even Macaas's music immediately convinced, and therefore granted the permission of his novel into the musical form. The musical became very successful in Spain and we are glad that we will be able to introduce it to our audience at the Czech premiere.
