About event
This is an interesting and exciting course exploring meditation as a tool for self-therapy.
Meditation has gotten a rep for being a heal-all and cure-for-all practice. In this course we will explore the foundations of successful therapeutic practice, how yoga psychology understands therapeutic healing, possibilities of using various meditation practices as a tool for self-therapy; what is the potential, and where might it fall short.
These practices will all be guided and each a little bit different. We will use practices oriented to deal with different aspects of ourselves, such as emotions, thoughts, nervous system regulation, and so on.
Each class will include a little bit of theory, a little bit of softening movement, about 30 min of sitting practice (it might go faster than you think :), with space for some sharing and discussion.
When: Tuesdays 17:30-18:30
Where: Studio Jogamatka, Gorkeho 44, Brno
How long: 12 weeks, 12 classes, from 9/9 - 9/12
How much: full course fee is 2520 (If there are place free it is possible to register for individual classes. This option becomes available one week ahead of time.)
No previous experience needed; everything will be introduced; be very welcome as you are and a little curiosity goes a long way. 😉😊
About me:
My first meeting with yoga was 23 years ago, in 2002, in a yoga centre in Norway. From there my journey took me to India, to a deeper study and experience of the science and lifestyle of yoga. The practice opened up something inside me, and it has been, and still is, a constant companion on my life journey since then. My own yoga practice has helped me create a loving relationship to my body and inner self, and I therefore love teaching and sharing it.
I started studying trauma in 2015, rooted in my own deep need for healing at that time. I have been working with individual clients and teaching about it in workshops for 10 years now.
I am passionate about discovering what it really means to be a human being and how we can live our life in our fullest potential and joy.
I am also fascinated by how the ancient yogic science, with its colourful, poetic language, merges with modern neuroscientific understanding of our inner workings; its fascinating to see how the two come together to support and complement each other.
