About event
CARMEN-MAJA ANTONI is one of the most famous actresses in the country - striking, unmistakable. Whether as Krause's sister in the successful series of the rbb or on the stage of the Berliner Ensemble. When she is not in front of the camera, she delights her audience with readings from her autobiography or is a loving grandmother. She just turned 80.
JOHANNA SCHALL was born in Berlin and began her theater training there as a student at the Deutsches Theater (mentor: Alexander Lang). In 1982 she completed her acting exams at the “Ernst Busch” acting school in Berlin. She then received her first permanent engagement as an actress at the Kleist Theater in Frankfurt/Oder. From 1982 to 1997 she was an ensemble member of the Deutsches Theater Berlin, where she worked with directors Alexander Lang, Heiner Müller, Frank Castorf, Katja Paryla, Michael Gruner and Thomas Langhoff, among others, and made her debut in 1992 with her first directorial work, “The Pelikan” by August Strindberg. From then on she worked as a theater director, including at the Schauspielhaus Leipzig, Theater Chemnitz, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Theater Bremen, Theater Augsburg and at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, as well as as a guest lecturer at various drama schools in Berlin, Potsdam, Graz and Leipzig. From 2002 to 2007 she was acting director at the Volkstheater Rostock. After a two-year interlude as a visiting professor at the University of Toronto, she is working again as a freelance director and, occasionally, as an author, actress and lecturer.
