CSU Prague and artist Adam Vačář invite you to an interdisciplinary conference on the methods of imagination for coexistence with invasive species.
Meeting will focus on the imagination of a person's relationship to migrating (invasive) species and questions of coexistence in the context of paradigm change. Instead of the traditional perception of these species as a threat, they turn to the possibilities to think about them as actors of the future. The conference participants will present various approaches to overcoming dichotomies and boundaries of the individual fields of visual art, biology and landscape architecture. The conference emphasizes the importance of art, landscape and biological methods of imagination in interdisciplinary dialogue. This plant has long been involved in the Vačkářkáře not only as a biological species, but also as a paradigm enabling the reimagination of his own life, human perspective in relation to nature, otherness, ecological control and spiritual dimension. His research links scientific knowledge with artistic methods of imagination and strives to open new approaches to perception of invasive species, their role in ecosystems and their importance in human thinking.
