About event

Culturologist Juraj Novák, together with his colleague, art historian Richard E. Pročka, will complement the cycle of lectures on the important architect M. M. Scheer with the fourth presentation in September. It will bring it closer to the chapter from his work, which symbolically begins with the arrival of Nitra in 1952. In addition to the change of work in which he survived the second part of his life, his work was also affected by a change in the conditions in the nationalized design, within the Regional Project Institute of Nitra. On the one hand, it brought restrictions and on the other new, often unprecedented opportunities.

Michal Scheer manifested itself as an excellent personality in the field of urban work. With its zoning plans and projects of extensive residential complexes, he forever influenced the face of Nitra and other cities of the region, while its housing estates Chrenová and in Nitra and Bastes, as well as in Nové Zámky from several points of view, advise urban and architecturally the highest quality in Czechoslovakia. In addition, he continued to work on countless projects of public buildings, but also individual family houses or recreational cottages. Ing. Mgr. Ľuba Stach and prof. Mgr. Milota Havránková. In 2018 led by prof. PhDr. Ladislav Lenovsky, PhD., And prof. In the past, he was teaching first at the Department of Mass Media Communication and Advertising and subsequently at the Department of Culturology of the Faculty of Arts of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. At the same time, he repeatedly worked as a teacher of the art department at the Elementary Art School of Jozef Rosinský in Nitra. At present, he is intensively dealing with the issue of the cultural heritage of Nitra and its surroundings as a culturalologist. He is a co -founder of the Civic Association of Nitra Cultural Heritage and author of the Bartfay project between us. PhDr. Ivan Gerat, PhD. Anton Pustovník in Dravce - iconographic, ideological and historical contexts. Since 2015 he has been an employee of the Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic and has been working at the Regional Monuments Board of Nitra as an expert counselor. In 2019 - 2020 he was an assistant professor at the Department of History and Theory of Art of the Philosophical Faculty of Trnava University in Trnava, before he also worked externally as a professional assistant at the Department of Design of Furniture and Interior of the Faculty of Woodworking of the Technical University in Zvolen. In professional life, it focuses primarily on sacral architecture and fine arts, as well as modern architecture, sculpture and design of the 20th century.
