Do not miss the discussion of historian architecture 🏛️ and professor at Chicago Illinois Institute of Technology 🎓 Michelangelo Sabatin with architect 🏗️ Iveta Černá on a new publication 📖 dedicated to the famous Edith Farnsworth House. and wines. As part of the event, it will also be possible to buy a publication at the Tugendhat Villa box office. The whole event will take place in English without interpreting.
Michelangelo Sabatino 🎓
Michelangelo Sabatino is a publicly active educator, historian, curator and conservationist who focuses mainly on the construction environment of the twentieth century in his research and writing. In addition to acting as a temporary dean (2017-19), he currently leads a doctoral program in the field of architecture and is the first research worker of John Vinci Distinguished Research Fellow.
Sabatino studied art, architecture and Design and monument care at universities in Canada, Italy and the United States. He won a professional title in the field of architecture at Università IUAV di Venezia and a doctorate at the Department of Fine Arts of Toronto University. He graduated from a postdoToRandan stay at the Department of Arts and Architecture at Harvard. Before his appointment at the IIT College of Architecture, Sabatino taught at Yale University and the University of Houston. Sabatin's research was supported by a number of financial agencies and institutions such as SSHRC, Canadian Center for Architecture and Graham Foundation.

Sabatino Trained in Art and preservation at universities in Canada, Italy, and the United States of America. He Earned and Professional Degree in Architecture at the Università iuav di Venezia and a PhD in the Department of Fine Art, the University of Toronto. He Held and Post-DoCtoral Fellowship in the Department of History of Art + Architecture, Harvard University. Sabatino Taught at Yale University and the University of Houston Before His Appointment to Iit’s College of Architecture. Sabatino’s Research Has Been Supported by A Range of Funding Agencies and Institutions Such as SSHRC, Canadian Center for Architecture and Graham Foundation.
Sabatino’s First Book, Pride in Modesty: Modernist Architecture and the Vernacular Traction in Italy (2011), Won Multiple Awards, Including the Society of Architecture Historians' Alice Davis Hitchcock Award. He recently Completed Two Books Related to IIT: The Edith Farnsworth House: Architecture, Presernation, Culture (2024) and Mies in His Words: Complete Writings, Speeshes, Interviews (2024).
