Čo what happens when Tashi Dorji (in Slovenian Taši Dordže), a Bhutanese guitarist with roots in metal and punk music, is known for the harsh minimalism of American primitivism? He first settled in North Carolina, where he began with austere, but more explosive improvisations. The structure of Buddhist temple music is gradually introduced into them, which quickly leads him to similar guitar soloists who gather around hotspots like Hermit Hut, Palilalia Records, or Drag City. We can mention, for example, Derek Baileyho, Marisa Anderson, Ben Chasneho and Bill Orcutta. Lyrical motifs permeate his hand-wrought improvisations, where every note and silence has a carefully determined place. It gained intensity and aggressiveness, as if the guitar sometimes turned into a dry branch shaking in the wind. Later, maybe a little zozenovajejú and vyvoktia sa towards repetitiveness and meditativeness. The conclusion, however, must be completed only after live experience.

Before Bratislava, Tashi will stop at Café OTO, at Unsounde, or at Prague's Puncte. We will play acoustically, which will be a unique moment on his tour.

Richard Hronský v LOMe. Asi sa to wait for all his escapades and various contexts in which he prefúkol his fujara. This time he will try a more laboratory space, in which he will finally present his current album Pohreb in a more complete way. It was published at the beginning of September in the Slovenian publishing house mappa, so it will actually be a cross or a car, let's see what Rišo comes up with. There will be an opening speech, that it will be three minutes, there will be fujara, there will be terrain recordings, and there will be a secret host. Pohreb is a separate album, which was recently very nicely described by the Czech publicist Pavel Klusák: zesílily her resonance. Slyšíme here and fragments of actual rituals, singing and varhany; Richard is more likely to just quote it than to directly attack it without a break. It's too much a nice personal remix of the situation "odtud jsem zešel a kolem chodily tradice", a kind of neokazile respect for people and demons connecting the past with today.

Vinyls would already be hot, so before the concert, you visited the ATM.

It was a brush with Derek Bailey's idiosyncratic style that diverted Bhutan-born North Carolina-based guitarist from metal, punk and rock towards free improv, jazz and Americana, and since 2009's jaw-dropping 'Solo Improvisations' tape (recently re-released by Drag City as 'Guitar Improvisations'), he's been developing his own uniquely phrased language on the instrument. Dorji has racked up released on Ben Chasny's Hermit Hut, Bill Orcutt's Palilalia, Feeding Tub and Astral Spirits, and recorded with world-class percussionist Susie Ibarra, Danish saxophonist Mette Rasmussen and Midwestern improv legend Tyler Damon, but, like his forebears, it's in the live environment where he truly shines.

It was probably just a matter of time after all his escapades and the many contexts in which he has blown his fujara through. This time, he will step into a more lab-like setting to finally present his latest album Pohreb in a more focused way. Released in early September by the Slovak label mappa, this will also serve as something between a launch and a wake. We will see what Rišo comes up with. There will be an opening word, supposedly three minutes long, there will be a fujara, field recordings, and there are whispers of secret guests. Pohreb is a deeply personal album, recently described beautifully by Czech music writer Pavel Klusák: "Acoustic drones seem to gather some kind of atmosphere hanging in the air, amplifying its resonance. We hear fragments of real rituals, singing and organs. Richard more or less quotes them, rather than directly continuing their line without distance. It is a truly lovely personal remix of the situation 'this is where I come from, and traditions walked around me' — respectfully acknowledging both people and demons connecting the past to the present."

By that time, the vinyls should be ready, so visit the ATM before the show. Bratislava
