Mikrozvuk #60: Gosheven + Johana Klára Kratochvílová

In April, LOM space will host a concert from the Mikrozvuk series, at which Gosheven and Johana Klára Kratochvílová will perform.

Line-up:

• 19:30 Doors
• 20:00 Johana Klára Kratochvílová
• 21:00 Gosheven

Gosheven is solo project of Hungarian guitarist and sound artist Bálint Szabó. His work resonated far beyond the borders of the local scene. His different approach to electric guitar tuning systems was most evident on the visionary albums Leaper (Opal Tapes), which in 2017 was ranked among the best albums in The Wire, but also in many other world magazines and Bivaq (2018, Opal Tapes). He followed them up on the formal experiments of the minimalists La Monte Young and Terry Riley. He also brought this approach to groups such as 12z or Decolonize Your Mind Society, with whom he performed several times in Bratislava's T3 and A4, or at the Next festival. Bálint is also engaged in the production of 3D printed microtonal whistles.

Johana Klára Kratochvílová is a dulcimer player, a musical instrument that is more associated with traditional folk festivals, especially Moravian ones. However, Johana approaches him from a completely different perspective. In his solo work, he processes the instrument electronically, freeing it from the traditional context or sonority and moving it more towards more abstract positions. A few years ago, she outlined this approach in the sibling duo Thyme, with whom she performed in various spaces focused on experimental music. In addition to playing in orchestras and studying at JAMU, he manages to devote himself to his work, which he will now present in the LOM space.
