Gosheven is the only project of Hungarian guitarist and sound artist Bálinta Szabóa. His work resonated far beyond the local scene. His different approach to the tuning system of the electric guitar was most prominently shown on the visionary albums Leaper (Opal Tapes), which in 2017 was included among the best albums in The Wire, but also in many other world magazines and Bivaq (2018, Opal Tapes). Na nich nadviazal na formalné experiments minimalistov La Monte Young and Terry Rileyho. This approach was also brought to groups like 12z, or Decolonize Your Mind Society, with which they were presented several times in Bratislava T3 and A4, or at the NEXT festival. Bálint is also engaged in the production of 3D printed microtonal pipes. Some time has passed since Bivaqu, so we are curious about what Gosheven is currently working on.
cymbál, a musical instrument, which is rather associated with traditional folk festivals, especially Moravian ones. However, Johana approaches him from a completely different perspective. In his solo creation, the instrument electronically processes, frees it from the traditional context of sound and moves it more towards abstract positions. A few years ago, she outlined this approach in the sister duo Thyme, with whom she performed in various spaces focused on experimental music. In addition to playing in orchestras and studying at JAMU, he is able to devote himself to his work, which he will now present in the LOM space.

A couple of years ago, cimbalom player Johana Klára Kratochvílová made a splash in the alternative scene with the duo Thyme, where she and her brother Martin Dominik explored the possibilities of her instrument in combination with electronics. Her solo, as of now unreleased work is similar to Thyme in that it presents the electronically processed cimbalom in ways rarely encouraged in its usual context, that is, folk music ensembles and symphony orchestras: as a rare source of ephemeral sounds that paint strange dream worlds. Alongside playing in different orchestras and studying at JAMU, she also develops her own work, which she will now present at the LOM space.
