Description of the trip
Totally symbolically, exactly on Mikuláš, we will go to the fairy-tale benches with well-known characters in the Košice City Forests. Just like the Saint Nicholas holiday, fairy tales belong especially to children, for whom we are preparing this easy family hike.
We will choose together to find out whether the generous Nicholas also visited his fairy-tale friends, and whether he left something for the little ones. And we will also leave something for him, namely in a symbolic place - at the Spring of Fairies. We will start the journey in a pine forest, at the end of which the Mole and the Hare will be waiting for us. We cross the bridge to get to the road to Čičky. Between the cottages and through the meadows, we approach the edge of the forest, to a beautiful lookout point with a bench of a hare family. Through the forest we go out onto the forest path and here in close succession we find Maťek with Klinček, cheerful hares from the hat and the "keeper of all fairy tales" - grandfather Večerníček and his dog. From there it is only a short distance to the gazebo on the red marker, from which we will move to the Spring of Fairies and the Fairy Amálka. Here we will make an exhibition of painted Santa Clauses, each children's author will receive a little sweet attention for the picture. We will arrive at Bankov along the running path around the shafts of the first Košice water supply. Just before arriving at the destination, the last bench will wait for us, showing the mine on Bankova, including the carts and the elevator. Just imagine the Permonians - miner elves, working hard underground.
Participant meeting: 9:00 a.m. at the public transport stop Košice, Hodonínska, in the direction of the headquarters. KVP (opposite the LIDL store)
Access to the meeting place: bus no. 17, 71, 72 MHD Košice
Length of route: 7.6 km
Elevation: 258 m
Time requirement: total time of walking at a child's pace with stops at benches is approx. 4 hours
Estimated return: around 1:00 p.m. return by bus no. 14 MHD Košice from Horné Bankov. Bus departures: 12:26 p.m., 1:26 p.m., 1:56 p.m.
Košice Region Tourism and the Košice Family Tourism Club have prepared a varied series of family tours in the vicinity of Košice with a varied program combining visits to events, museums and fitness activities in autumn, winter and spring nature. Guiding services and activity management will be provided by the Košice Family Tourism Club - TOM KRTKO. Travel by public transport, entrance fees to monuments and refreshments are paid by the trip participants individually on the spot.
