songwriter Mirek Kemel has been devoted to music since high school, in the second half of the 1980s he regularly played guitar and harmonica in Žižkov pubs and harmonica. In 2007 he discovered the harmonica and its charm got it completely. It fascinated it with its characteristic sound and possibilities of both solo and accompanying tools. For a year he went to Václav Veselý, who taught him the basics of the game. Mirek Kemel puts great emphasis on lyrics, mostly inspired by truly experienced events. He tries to look for something that goes beyond us under simple stories. Although each person has a story different and individual experiences differ in place, time and intensity, there is something under it, the basic story that we all have very similar. Mirek Kemel sings his author's songs and accompanies the accordion, guitar and ukulele. He usually performs accompanied by a band, which also consists of Vlastimil Konopiský (guitar, viola), Tomáš Görtler (accordion, otherwise also a member of the gates) and Petr Mikeš (drums). Vladimír Javorský (ukulele, guitar, flute, saxophone) performs as an occasional guest with the band. Their music balances on the border of more genres from ballads through chanson and blues to catchy pub songs. It is always a personal confession of the author, who embodies his perception of life and the world in many obvious and only suspected aspects. The songs are based on poetry texts and simple melody. You could say that Mirek Kemel is based on similar roots as Vašek Koubek, Jaromír Nohavica, Radůza, Krausberry, Vladimir Mišík or Traband. Mirek Kemel says nothing is a coincidence and all meetings and events have a deep meaning. Certainly not "by chance", almost at the same time, the beginnings of playing at the accordion Mirek met the teacher of singing Ivana Vostárková and began to take hours of singing. Singing for him is not just a technical matter, much more is related to the experience and energy flow in the body, to finding its essence. At that moment, everything fallen together: singing, accordion and poetry… Finally, it would be good to note that Mirel Kemel's name can be known to listeners in other contexts: as a graduate of the figural drawings at Doc. Borise Jirků at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, has been living as a diary cartoonist, has undergone Lidové noviny, economic newspapers, Mladá fronta Dnes, since 2014 to the present to law.
