Award-winning singer & composer MIRNA BOGDANOVIC is creating a blend of experimental sounds with jazz influenced vocals, effects and beats. With tireless curiosity, she explores the possibilities of harmony, combining the voice with acoustic and electronic soundscapes. The universe of Berlin-based artist Mirna Bogdanovic, invites the listeners into a warped world coated with jazz and avant-pop. Bogdanović studied classical piano and jazz vocals at various music Colleges around Europe and finished her degree at the Jazz Institut Berlin (2017). At the time of her studies she won the Downbeat Student Award and was part of the National Youth Big Band (BuJazzo).
Bogdanović released two albums since 2020, both of which have won the Deutscher Jazzpreis. "Confrontation" (Klaeng Records) was crowned "Debut Album of The Year" 2021 and ‘Awake’ (Berthold Records) is currently “Album of The Year”. “Some of us seek novelty, are curious, risk-taking and adventurous. The other part loves solid structures, rules that have settled in place and stood the test of time. Both are necessary: without one, the whole thing will fall apart, without the other, everything will fall apart chaotically.”
-Raul Sööt
-----------------------
Slovenian pianist Oto Gvardjančič's striking abilities and expressive manner have had a big influence on the jazz world. He is inspired by the lengthy history of jazz and skillfully combines traditional aspects with his own distinct improvisational flare.
He is an unmatched instrument master. His melodic lines flow and dance, enthralling listeners with their deft word choice and expressive soulfulness. He boldly pushes the bounds of traditional harmony and rhythm while exploring the frontiers of free jazz. His music is an exploration of self-expression that evokes a spectrum of feelings, from introspection to ecstasy.
Gvardjančič demonstrates in his performances his capacity to create a lively and captivating environment. His mastery of the stage is apparent as he virtuosically performs difficult musical parts, enthralling spectators with his skill. It is evident that Gvardjančič is passionate about jazz and has a lot of enthusiasm, whether he is playing on large platforms or in little jazz venues.
