At the beginning of the 20th century, Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show arrives in Rome to sell the American myth of the Wild West to Italians through blank shots and cowboy shows. Against the background of equestrian competitions between American and Italian cowboys, young Rosa, the wife of a local landowner, falls in love with the winner named Santino. After the murder of Rosa's husband, the pair run away. But justice is always on the side of whoever pays more, and they put a high reward on Santino's head. Buffalo Bill is on Rose's trail while she dreams of escaping to America. Not the one from the bison posters, but the real one, where she could start over. But, as it happens in a proper cowgirl - fate has the last word. And the truth often remains buried under the ground.
