Flamenco Mastery
Carlos Piñana studied at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Murcia and completed a Masters in Music Research at the University of Murcia. He comes from an important flamenco family: his grandfather Antonio Piñana was considered the patriarch of Cante Minero, his father Antonio Piñana was a renowned flamenco guitarist and the artist's first teacher.
In addition to studying classical guitar at the Cartagena Conservatory, Carlos Piñana devoted himself to flamenco guitar early on and received numerous awards, including the Bordón Mineroat the Festival del Cante de las Minas as well as the “Ramón Montoya” national prize in Córdoba.
As an internationally sought-after musician, he has performed in numerous cities in Europe, America, Africa and Asia and combines traditional flamenco roots with virtuoso concert art in his playing. He is also a professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Murcia
Rainer Maria Nero completed preparatory and concert studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Univ.-Prof. Alexander Swete and completed his studies with multiple honors. From 2014 to 2016 he also studied flamenco with Carlos Piñana in Spain, which marked the beginning of his international concert activity.
As a multi-award-winning guitarist, he released several albums. An example of this is his album Kairos (2024), in which he combines classical guitar with flamenco and other stylistic influences.
He has performed as a soloist and with ensembles, as well as with orchestras such as the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra. Engagements have taken him to the Vienna Konzerthaus, Madrid, Bahrain and Austin, Texas, among others.
He has been teaching as an assistant at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 2022.
