Moemi Yamamoto: Everything is connected in dreams

White & Weiss Gallery concludes the year 2024 by a presentation of the Japanese artist in the Czech Republic Moemamoto entitled Everyth is Connected in Dreams / Vie House. The exhibition offers a view of a dream world full of emotions and imagination, which combines history, cultural influences and personal dream visions into a unique visual language. , what we are used to in our cultural environment. The visual world of the Japanese artist Moemamoto will captivate at first sight. Her works open the door to disturbing situations on the border of dreams and reality, in which exteriors blend in with interiors and the image is dominated by a wide range of emotions. It creates the illusion of life existing in its own bubble and timeless. It leads to introspective survival, which exceeds the interface of normal perception. Moemamoto connects many historical periods, styles and influences, creating a unique, timeless visual language, deeply linked to the cultural and artistic heritage. Whether it is a combination of various painting perspectives inspired by Central European Gothic paintings, Japanese Ukiyo or dreams, or surrealist fascination with metamorphoses and (in) consciousness, but also symbolism or emotional natural scenery with melancholic and introstive romantic tones. /> Moemamoto (1985, Japan, Lives and Works in Prague) studied painting at the University of Art and Design in Japan and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where she graduated from the studio of Josef Bolf and Jakub Hošek. In 2022 she won the discovery of the year within the awards of the Czech Academy of Visual Arts. She exhibited in galleries and institutions such as SPZ Gallery, Prague, Bold Gallery, Prague, Span Art Gallery, Tokyo, Nichido Gallery, Tokyo and art fairs of Art Taipei and Swab Barcelona.
