About the exhibition:
Snaphlies - Mobilovky is an exhibition of photographs of Viera Valentová, capturing the beauty of the Tatras and their surroundings in various seasons and weather conditions. Photographs were taken during her studies at the University of the Third Age (UTV), while the collection contains images from two full years and the first semester of the third year. The exhibition will be followed by another series of photos in the summer semester 2025.
"I like to stop and capture views of trees, paths, rocks or clouds ... When photographing, sometimes I disconnect from the UTV group and made a lot of my photos. Extinct medieval settlement Šoldov (13 - 14 century), Gánovské travertín and geyser (the oldest spa, dated approximately 1549) or Hohenlohe in Tatranská Javorina, etc. However, some of them have been standing with the roots. After graduation in 1985 she was briefly on her alma mater, and later joined the railway where she worked in the calculation center - the control of international rail transports. After ten years, she was lured by the private sector - administration of sports goods. Later she accepted an offer for work in the public sector, where she has been working for more than 20 years. During her studies at a university, she attended a climbing course in the UPJŠ Košice section. With him came new adventure and experience, in life and nature, new friends. In the rock climbing for several years, UPJŠ Košice represented competition for several years. She was engaged in sports in Slovakia and abroad. Its adventurous nature was addressed by cave, skydiving, karate, and WT (Wing Tsun). Today she sporadically attends courses and seminars of yoga and tai-chi. The Tatras, which she deals with during wandering after Slovak nature, have a special place in her work.
