About event
"Mona Mur in Conversation" - the award-winning documentary by Dietmar Post goes on a cinema tour.
As a key figure in the German underground scene of the 1980s, Mona Mur combined post-punk, industrial and experimental electronics with a bold pop sensibility - always characterized by her distinctive voice and artistic vision.
Over the course of her career she worked with, among others, En Esch (KMFDM), FM Unit, Mark Chung and Alexander Hacke (Einkehrende Neuhäusern), Nikko Weidemann (Moka Efti Orchestra), Dieter Meier (Yello), J.J. Burnel and Dave Greenfield (The Stranglers) as well as filmmakers such as Monika Treut, Elfi Mikesch and Fatih Akin, the photographer Ilse Ruppert and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. Mur gives candid insights into her career, her creative decisions and the challenges she has faced - with humor and clarity. The film is a captivating exploration of the work of an artist who consistently follows her own path, does not conform to expectations and always develops her craft.
Director Dietmar Post is present.
Moderator: Natalie Gravenor (Soundwatch Music Film Festibval)
