About event
Beautiful notes is the Amsterdam pop song competition for singer-songwriters and (semi) acoustic acts of up to three people. The starting point is the pop song itself, whereby composition, lyrics and musical presentation are taken into account.
From all registrations, 18 acts are selected for the preliminaries. These will take place at the end of March in the Roode Cinema, Midwest and De Nieuwe Khl.
The 7 semi -finalists (three winners of the preliminary rounds, four wildcards) compete in Paradiso for a place in the final. In June the three finalists are in the Vondelpark Open Air Theater and one act with the prize package goes home.
Beautiful notes is a household name in the Netherlands, not least because of the special stages where the participants can play. Joke organizes beautiful notes to give up -and -coming talent the opportunity to present themselves to the public, press and music industry. The winner goes home with a prize package with, among other things, a value check for musical instruments, studio time and performances.
In 2024 Wolfgang won the Songwriting Competition. Earlier winners include Kaya, Juliet, Melle, Susann, Meis, Jana Mila, Eelke Ankersmit, Pitou and Lucas Hamming. Among the former participants belong to Case Mayfield, Laura Sjin and Midas.
