About event
The Belgian private detective Hercule Poirot wants to travel from Istanbul to London on the Orient Express. But the train is fully booked: all women and men from the world. And only because the railway director Monsieur Bouc, who is traveling with him, stands up for him, does Hercule Poirot get another compartment. On the journey through Serbia, the train has to stop because of snowdrifts and a brutal murder takes place. Hercule Poirot's famous gray cells begin to work...
Katharina Thalbach will not only play the master detective, but will also direct. She is planning a big crime spectacle.
For the creative team she was able to recruit the fashion designer Guido Mario Kretschmer, who designed the costumes and with whom she has already worked with in the productions “Ernst and its deeper meaning”, “As you like it” and “The Barber of Seville” worked together. Anyone who knows his designs knows: it will be lavish. The stage design is designed by Momme Röhrbein, who has worked at almost all major German-speaking theaters and also worked with Katharina Thalbach in Lisbon at the Teatro Nacional de Sao Carlos. Christoph Israel's work appeals to the ear, Christopher Tölle to the eyes.
