About event
“The world of Moreno Veloso is himself who did. Music, eventually lyrics, and the Samba de Roda da Bahia dance taken on the plate and the knife. Singer, composer, guitarist and percussionist of Bahian origin and carioca experience, Moreno Veloso is one of the architects of one of the fundamental sounds of 21st century Brazilian music. ” (G1 | O GLOBO)
Ten years since the last studio album released - “Good Thing” (2014) - Moreno Veloso presents “Parallel World”, album produced by Ten Songs, including the title track released as a single and the samba de roda “The Donzela Married”, with the participation of the Veloso family (Caetano, Maria Bethânia, Zeca and Tom). The only song that is not your own is "let" be "by António Cícero and Marina Lima.
The title of the album refers to another reality. A world that in the words of homonymous music is also transcendental, a more beautiful, more cheerful reality, a strong and rich reality that goes beyond, in every way, what we can find in common daily life.
The album, recorded in Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro, was delicately built around this transcendent view of what can be better even in the most troubled and challenging passages of life, as was the COVID-19 pandemic, when the album was initially conceived.
It is a projection of evidently positive images that point to a happier world even when the immediate surroundings are in total disagreement with happiness. It's really a parallel world!
