The Photography and Authors Exhibition - MFA Lisbon returns in the coming months of November and December, celebrating another edition with the theme WE. This exhibition, which brings together emerging and established photographers and authors, invites reflection on the concept of "us" in its multiple interpretations. Be it "we" as a collective, emotional connection, or as a bond that unites people, cultures and stories.
Over the course of two months, different cultural spaces in the city of Lisbon host exhibitions and events dedicated to photography , focusing on projects that address the notion of interconnection, belonging and community. In addition to the exhibitions, the program includes meetings with authors, debates and projections that allow participants to delve into the different facets of this theme, promoting an artistic reflection on our connections and identities.
As the central space of this edition we chose Jardins do Bombarda, thus giving continuity to our partnership with the cooperative Largo Residências, where four exhibitions are presented: AGENDA 2030, which embodies in images the challenges of the Sustainable Development Goals, with 30 images by 19 photographers, that portray issues related to Poverty, Health, Marine Life, Cities and Communities; LESS THAN NOTHING IS NOT EQUAL TO EVERYTHING, by João Mariano, who shows us what is not visible to the vast majority of the public, the other side, of the artistic and cultural projects produced and staged by the Lavrar o Mar cooperative; CASULO, by Vitorino Coragem, documents the transformation of the former Miguel Bombarda hospital into the Jardins Bombarda cultural and community center, capturing the revitalization process, which symbolizes the metamorphosis of the space, where before there was silence and pain, today creativity, art and the resilience of people and the community; and DANCER VALENTIM DE BARROS, an exhibition-tribute to this artist, who spent almost four decades in prison (1939-1986) at the Miguel Bombarda Psychiatric Hospital, but whose only “disease” was identified as being homosexual.
< br/>On Saturdays November 2nd and December 7th, CC11 and its associates participate in Bazar Bombarda through the Photography Market, with new or used books and vintage equipment.
