About event
The distribution rights of the film DEAD MAN are ending. It will be the last time you see him on screen for some time!
Bill Blake arrives in the Wild West to take the position of accountant, against his will he becomes a legendary killer. Quirky western parody
.
All roads lead somewhere, the most important is often the one that gives direction and meaning to our actions. After the death of his parents, young accountant Bill Blake comes from his native Cleveland to the far West to start a new job. He doesn't get the promised job and finds himself penniless in a strange city. When he kills the son of a wealthy local ironworks owner in self-defense, he must flee from hired killers. The lonely Indian Nobody becomes his guide and protector.
According to him, Bill is identical to his namesake, the English lyric poet William Blake, whom he fell in love with during his involuntary stay in Britain. And so he treats a seriously injured young man only to prepare him in the spirit of his peculiar philosophy for a mystical departure from this world...
The prominent creator of American independent film, screenwriter and director Jim Jarmusch used the framework of the western for a self-parody statement about the feeling of uprootedness and the loss of traditional values. The story mixes obscure events with strange Westman figures, a black-and-white camera and the catchy music of the famous rock musician, composer and guitarist Neil Young. The main character was played by Johnny Depp.
