MUDDY MONK
“Always have fun experimenting. Always get euphoria when I'm on a high. When I’m making a sound, a new synthesizer sound,” confesses Muddy Monk. No surprise for a singer-songwriter discovered in the middle of Long Ride (2018), his indestructible first album. Where the native of Fribourg, behind his biker appearance in a combi, was already thwarting all the stylistic codes – from contemplative synthwave to the synthetic variety. Because from one album to another, Muddy Monk takes great pleasure in taking his audience on a journey, without ever repeating himself and in order to better renew himself. Now it means stepping on the accelerator just two years after Ultra Dramatic Kid (2022), a fascinating noise experiment, an immense rhythmic exploration. In the meantime, after two memorable concerts at the Salle Pleyel in the fall of 2021 and at the Cigale in the spring of 2022 (prestigious venues that he discovered directly on stage), the singer flew to the moon with his friend Jimmy Whoo for a four-handed maxi, To The Moon (2023), crossing dreamy electronica and retrofuturist pop.
“In reaction to Ultra Dramatic Kid, Muddy Monk reconnects with his instincts as a melodist and instantly finds the right tempo with his new single Lili Pacino which suggests contemplative ballads and hit songs.
