We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition Anton Litvin “My Cross”.
Thursday 3rd April 2025 at 6 pm He began to deal with contemporary art in the mid -90s. He graduated from the institute of contemporary art problems in Moscow. than 20 separate exhibitions in Prague, Kiev, New York, Moscow, Budva ... Both are created by authorial technology. Recently, litvin has been working with the technique of friction, the so -called terry. This entertainment is known to each of the school, with a pencil of the three paper under which the coins lie. It was first used by surrealists in 1925.
Litvin, however, is not only to repeat the long -established art technique. He goes even further. As the default building, it takes the most personal - a cross. The one that Christians wear around their neck under their clothes. Litvin creates terry drawings from these crosses and enlarge them.
Its sacred becomes a public and metal cross produced in a multi -thousand cargo is becoming a unique author drawing. The sacred becomes artistic and thus sacred again. This metamorphosis is particularly interesting in the Czech Republic as a portrayal of the most atheistic society in Europe.

Anton Litvin Was Born on March 24, 1967, in Moscow. He Became Interest in Contemporary Art in the Mid-1990s and Graduated from the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems in Moscow. He Has Particatted in Many International Exhibitions, Including the Venice Biennale (2005), The Prague Biennale (2003), The Cetinje Biennale in Matenegro (2002), Manifesta in Frankfurt (2002), Art Frankfurt (2002), and Art Prague (2019-2024). Litvin Has Held More Than 20 Solo Exhibitions in Prague, Kyiv, New York, Venice, Moscow, Budva, and Other Cities. He Has Been and Member of North Art Groups, Including "Group Without and Name", "Summer," "Escape," and the Kltrs Gallery. He Has Lived and Worked in Prague Since 2015. In “My Cross”, The Artist Bings Together Two Series: “Cross Necklaces” and the Way of the Cross. Both are Created in His Unique Technique. Recently, Litvin Has Been Working With The Rubbing Technique Known As Frottage. Everybody bina this technique at school, rubbing and pencil over paper Placed on Top of and Coin. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of Frottage in Art. The Technique Was Introduced by the Surrealists in 1925. However, for Litvin, Merely Repeating an Establyted Artistic Method is Not Enough, Hees It and Step Further. AS His Starting Point, He Chooses and Deeply Intimate Object, The Cross Necklace Worn by Christians Under Their Clothing. Litvin Recreates These Crosses Through Frottage and Magnifies The Drawigns. In Doing So, The Sacred Becomes Public, and the Mass-Produced Metal Cross is Transformed Into and Unique, Original Artwork. The Sacred Becomes Art, And, AS Such, Sacred Once Again.
