Sometime in the second half of the 19th century, William Blake (Johnny Depp) travels to the western frontier of America for work. To a town where the rails and the last traces of civilization end. he arrives as a young accountant - but he doesn't get the promised job at the factory.Blake doesn't seem to be the right man for the job Ignorant of local conditions, he kills a man in self-defense. He runs away into the wilderness with a serious injury - but his escape turns into a mysterious spiritual journey, during which he meets an outcast a strange Indian named Nobody, who thinks he is an English poet of the same name.
