Denmark, Poland, Sweden 2024, 115 min. The end of the 1st World War II is quickly disappearing and the world continues to plague inequality and misery. Karoline, a young and poor worker in the textiles, remained alone. My husband Peter lost himself on the front and a short romance with the factory director ends disappointment. When abandoned and pregnant finds herself without work, she meets the charismatic Dagmar, which is the only one to show kindness and understanding. It leads an illegal adoption agency and helps mothers look for a replacement home for unwanted children. Since Karoline has no one to turn to and has no money after giving birth, he searches for Dagmar and takes the tasks of the milk. There is a strong bond among women, but the revelation of the shocking truth about Dagmar's work will not remain without consequences. Among them I nominations for the Golden Globe and Oscar.
