About event
"Musical" is more than "scene with music"
In the context of a genre rollercoaster, singing and shaking your hips may be enough to parody a musical. However, actually using the genre requires much more. In addition to the acting and storytelling skills that are usual for improvisers, there are also music, singing and dance. Then do the whole thing as a group! Improvising a full-length musical is therefore rightly viewed as the supreme discipline among improvisation formats.
With more than 20 years of experience at the Springmaus Improvisation Theater as a player, musician and director, Gilly Alfeo leads in his workshop through all parts of this “improv decathon” with a particular focus on the group dynamic requirements. Because when everyone understands what is happening and recognizes what is needed, the enjoyment of demanding group work begins in a golden balance between discipline and joy of playing.
