🎪 The big final of the new 2025 exposition? Music carnival that Brno has not experienced. 🎶
In the evening of 4 June There will be music of two composers who turned the world inside out - Erika Satie and John Cage. And then… the stage will no longer be a stage, but the whole space of the foyer of a besední house. Including you. 🌀
👂 You will hear three essential works - three approaches to music - in one evening:
✨ Parade of Erika Satie - a 1917 scandalous ballet, which caused skirmishes in the auditorium and judiciary. In Brno it will be played in a concert design, without a ballet scene, but with all the grotesque of the original score. Instead, he created a new piece, faithful rhythm and phrase, but completely different in melody. As he said, it was a song that "returned the desire to compose. Cage's fundamental project, which literally embodies his vision of free sound coexistence. As Cage himself said:
"I am more interested in social questions. Musicircus is an experiment to find new forms of coexistence. It shows plurality of styles, aesthetic attitudes and that even without the unifying principle we can exist together. He can play what he wants. The only condition: it will not be paid for it.
At the same moment, different musicians, different works, different aesthetics - and yet it makes sense. The audience moves between the "islets of the sound", looking for his own listener, his own story. This project was invited to the performers who participated in the last 5 years on the program of new music exhibitions.
🎭 It is a carnival of music. Music utopia. And also a common reception of performers and audiences. Celebration of differences that form a common whole.
