Film shows the history of the musical culture of immigrants from Turkey in Germany
Three days after the music festival “Gazino and Turkish Bazaar” (October 11, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. in Steinmetzstraße, 10783 Berlin), the musical film “Love, D-Mark and Death – Aşk Mark ve Ölüm” by Cem Kaya will be shown at the Huzur neighborhood meeting point shown.
As in the In the 1960s, when many people from Turkey came to Germany as so-called guest workers, music was a piece of home in a foreign country. Cem Kaya's film shows the history of the musical culture of immigrants from Turkey, their children and grandchildren in Germany in an entertaining and very complex way. Interviews with musicians and archive material tell the exciting development of independent musical directions that did not exist before.
The film evening is presented in collaboration with the Huzur neighborhood meeting point. The number of places is limited. The German version is shown.
