About event
Mother. Father. Child – The family as a breeding ground for all evil. A literary evening about social background, addiction and class with Annemarie Andre & Lena Schätte
What does growing up in precarious circumstances do to children? Is there any prospect of an outbreak for them? What power does literature have when it gives visibility and voice? Annemarie Andre and Lena Schätte have both presented novels that deal with childhood in difficult family constellations, poverty and addiction in a delicate and powerful way.
In the evening, both writers will talk about their literary approaches to class and read from "Nudibranchs" and "The Black on My Father's Hands."
Annemarie Andre (*1994) is a writer and currently works as a marketer in Amsterdam. Her novel »Nacktschnecken« was published by Müry Salzmann Verlag and was a candidate for the Hotlist 2025, in which books from independent publishers are honored.
Lena Schätte (*1993) is a writer and psychiatric nurse who currently lives in the Writers' House in Stuttgart. Her novel “The Black on My Father’s Hands” is currently up for the German book prize. She studied literary writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig and worked for a long time in the addiction support system in the Ruhr area.
Admission: €7 / reduced €5
